Pace Teams
What races do the Arizona Road Racers (ARR) pace each year? ARR paces the Rock and Roll half and full marathon, the IMS Arizona Marathon and the Tucson Marathon.

What exactly is a pace team?
A pace team is lead by the pace leader. The leader keeps track of the pace and ensures that you come in at the designated time. Most pace leaders run even splits, but some will bank seconds from each mile to use towards the end of the race. Pacer leaders carry a stick that has the designated finish time written at the top of the stick.

What are the benefits of a pace team? Pace teams help you to not worry about keeping track of the pace and they ensure that they come in at the designated time. It also gives you a chance to run with a group of people, so you are not alone in your running experience. Pacer leaders like to talk, cheer you on and just have fun!

How do I sign up for a pace team? You do not need to sign up for any of the pace teams. At the start of the race look for the pacer with your finish time and just stick to them like glue. Let them do the work on pacing and you focus on keeping relaxed and having fun.

Is there a cost to participate in a pace team? No, there is no cost. All pace teams are a part of your registration fee for the race!
