November 13, 2009
Cassandra Bolivar, Casey, was in an automobile accident while driving to work Wednesday morning,
August 5, 2009. It was a head-on collision and the other driver crossed the yellow line. She was
in ICU at St. Joseph's for about 1 month and Kindred Care for another month. She has been at
home participating in home physical rehab and going to many doctor's appointments. The injuries
were extensive, but no brain or spinal damage, so that is a huge blessing. There is a long
journey still to go and a lot of physical therapy, but Casey is an incredibly strong, healthy,
young women and is determined. It looks like anywhere between 1 to 6 weeks of inpatient acute
rehab. She has some bad days and some good days. Keep praying that as each day goes by there
are more good than bad.
Thank you to everyone who donated at the raffle for Casey and on-line. The total donations as of
November 13, 2009 are $4969. The money is being used to help her get implants for the five front
teeth she lost in the accident. The emotional and financial support have been a blessing in this
time of dealing with insurance companies, hospitals, rehab centers and in-home care specialists.
Please know that everyone's generosity is very much appreciated.
