BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT Ian Thomas Sandra Fontaine Phil Davis steve finkelstein Louis Bolivar GUESTS PRESENT, Robert Huotari Chairman of the Financial Committee, Gary Culver race director of Crown King Scramble, Hal Gensler, Chairman of the Race Committee Meeting location; Glendale Library Conference Room Meeting was called to order at 6:36 P.M. Hal Gensler Chairman of the Race Committee and CPA presented a detailed 75-page report to the Board indicating all income, expenditures and compensations received from 1999 to 2004. FINANCIAL COMMITTEE REPORT Chairman Robert Huotari reported a current bank balance of $14,366.00. The Thanksgiving Day Classic Race generated a profit for the club of $10,877.00. A check was written to The West Valley Child Crisis Center for $3189.00 leaving $7638.00 for the Club. The Board is pleased to announce the 2006 Thanksgiving Day Classic will once again be contested at The Peoria Sports Complex with the assistance of The Diamond Club. Robert and Hal Gensler are looking into locating a new warehouse location. Robert is meeting with a design company to create three alternative designs for new membership applications to be presented to The Board at the 1/25/06 meeting. PRESIDENTIAL REPORT PSteve stated that plans for The Christensen Trail Run appear to be in order. He also shared with the Board that Jo Anne Bolivar has taken a new job direction and will not have the time to assist with editing the Newsletter. Our President will assume these duties and has new StarOffice software and numerous articles to contribute. The Valley of the Gold Half Marathon organizers have asked to rent our timing equipment for their event in March at Oro Valley. CLOTHING REPORT Our new clothing will arrive on 1/11/2006 in time to sell at the Rock N’ Roll Marathon Expo. Clothing prices and profit margins were discussed. RACE COMMITTEE REPORT Hal Gensler updated a volunteer incentive program developed by Lindsay Edmondson and presented it to the Board. A motion to accept the program was made and passed. Volunteer awards will be presented at a year-end club social meeting. OLD BUSINESS Race director Gary Culver is working on the M.O.A. for Crown King with The Arizona Road Racers. Further recognition of the accomplishments of Guy McIntosh in his lifetime and the generous gift he left for our club will appear in future newsletters. NEW BUSINESS Robert Huotari will be presenting an application for a grant from The Diamond Club that will enable all high school athletes to run for no charge at The Thanksgiving Day Classic 2006. The Club is planning a workday at trail #100 (Christiansen Trail). All club members are invited to assist in general clean up and sign erection. It was decided that Gatorade would be served at all water stops in longer distance events. Meeting adjourned at 9:00P.M.
