TREASURER’S REPORT Hal Gensler reported a current bank balance of $18,800.00. In addition the $3000.00 grant received from the Diamond Club is now in a 7 month CD @4.25% interest. The Desert Classic Marathon generated $1000.00 after expenses and donations. The 2005 financial report will be available at the next Board meeting. PRESIDENTIAL REPORT President Steve welcomed the new Board members: Frank Cuda, Norm Janoff and Burke Painter. The revised web site is progressing. Membership increased by 14 in February. CLOTHING REPORT Ian reports moderate sales with the new clothing lines. Old inventory items are dwindling and new designs will soon replace them. The 2006 Summer Series shirt design is near completion. OLD BUSINESS Discussions and reviews continue regarding new membership applications, and a motion was made and approved to initiate a minimal membership price increase suggested by the Race Committee. This increase will become effective October 1, 2006. A motion was made and approved to donate $200 to The American Cancer Society by sponsoring a team for The Relay for Life at Peoria Sports Complex on 4/29/06. Earlier discussions about honoring Guy McIntosh resulted in an approved motion to commit a timing chip in the memory of Guy to be worn by random runners at club events. A timed result for Guy McIntosh will always appear in our results. Another motion was approved to donate $200 from profit generated by recently timing a race for The City of Goodyear to the American Heart Association. Logistics were discussed relating to delivery of our timing equipment and rental fees for the Ironman Arizona Event. Timing of the YMCA Ahwatukee Foothills event was addressed and the Cheetah Run. NEW BUSINESS The future racing calendar was discussed and numerous new events are going to be timed by ARR. Summer Series 2006 will again permit High School athletes to run for free in addition to Middle School runners as long as their coaches submit a pre registered roster and signed waivers. This year we will offer packet pick up at The Runner’s Den (with Rob Wallack's agreement). Thanks in part to a grant from The Diamond Club young runners age 17 and under who pre register for our Thanksgiving Day Classic will also run for free. Steve is speaking with Perry Edinger regarding medical personnel at our events and Burke Painter suggested listing our events on the Fire Department calendars. Frank Cuda has agreed to do all course certification for the club. RACE COMMITTEE REPORT The Race Committee suggested February 4, 2007 as the date for our Desert Classic Marathon event and mentioned eliminating the full marathon and contesting a marathon relay instead in addition to our other distances. Monique Coady presented valuable information regarding legalities and wording of race day waivers. Hal Gensler is continuing research and possible changes to be made. Crown King Race director and all around nice guy Gary Culver reported 133 finishers in this year’s event and accepted the race directorship again in 2007.
